November 7th, 2007 amy
Health officials are investigating a second norovirus outbreak in Redwood Falls Minnesota, this one linked to a McDonalds restaurant. Last month’s 54 cases of norovirus were believed to have originated at a Redwood Falls Burger King.
Several Redwood Falls physicians have recognized the norovirus in patients. Health officials have received four complaints from people who ate at a local McDonalds on Saturday.
Redowood-Renville County Public Health is requiring gloves be used when handing food at all local food establishments. Employees with symptoms may not return to work until 72 hours after the symptoms end.
Symptoms of norovirus include diarrhea, vomiting and nausea.
