More Croaker Recalled for Botulism

Grand Supercenter of New Jersey is recalling some of its “HC Fresh, Frozen Salted Croaker” because it may be contaminated with botulism. HC Fresh Frozen Salted Croaker was distributed through H Mart stores including H Mart and Super H Mart in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Texas area.
The recalled croaker products are sold in packages marked “Net. Wt.: 16.9 oz (480 gram)” with an Item # of “HC 0500402″, and an expiration date of Aug 02. 2009.
Botulism can cause paralysis or even death. Food contaminated with botulism will not necessarily look or smell spoiled. Symptoms of botulism include general weakness, dizziness, double-vision, and trouble with speaking or swallowing. Difficulty in breathing, weakness of other muscles, abdominal distension and constipation may also be common symptoms. People experiencing these problems should seek immediate medical attention.
