New Mexico health officials fear a salmonella outbreak

New Mexico health officials have confirmed at least 19 cases of salmonella poisoning occurring in a six-county area.
Four residents of Dona Ana County have been confirmed to have the “St. Paul” strain of salmonella.
KFOX-TV reports people around New Mexico were exercising extreme caution at public eating settings this Memorial Day holiday, like picnics and parties.
State health department officials issued public alerts about good food handling practices to underscore the uncertainty surrounding this outbreak.
New Mexico officials are still searching for the source of this contamination.
