Pet Carousel recalls all Pig Ears, Beef Hoof treats due to Salmonella contamination

Pet Carousel has finally issued a recall on all its Pig Ears and Beef Hoof pet treats because they’re contaminated with Salmonella.
We reported on the contamination at Pet Carousel a few weeks ago, and earlier this week, the company finally issued a recall on all these products, not just a select few.
The following products have been recalled: The Pig Ear products were packaged under the brand names Doggie Delight, Pork Tasteez and Pet Carousel

The affected beef hooves were packaged under the brand names Choo Hooves, Dentley’s, Doggie Delight, and Pet Carousel

All Pig Ear products purchased since Aug. 16, 2009, are included in this recall. All Beef Hoof products purchased after Sept. 16 are also included.
Salmonella poses a similar risk to pets as it does to humans, afflicting the sick or young first, but still presenting a risk to otherwise healthy pets.
Consumers should take these treats away from their pets immediately and return them to the purchase location for a refund.
