2005 Grade "A" Pasteurized Milk Ordinance -
The Grade "A" PMO is incorporated by reference in Federal specifications;
is used as the sanitary regulation for milk and milk products served on interstate carriers;
and is recognized by the Public Health Agencies,
the milk industry, and many others as the national standard for milk sanitation.
FDA Reports Significant Progress in Protecting the Food Supply - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today released a report on its implementation of the Food Protection Plan that was launched a year ago to protect both domestic and imported food from accidental and intentional contamination. The Plan, which outlines strategies for prevention, intervention and response, is designed to address food safety and food defense for both domestic and imported products and covers the full lifecycle of food, by encouraging the building of safety into every step of the food supply chain.
National Shellfish Sanitation Program (NSSP) Guide for the Control of Molluscan Shellfish 2007 Revision - The NSSP Guide for the Control of Molluscan Shellfish consists of a Model Ordinance, supporting guidance documents, recommended forms, and other related materials associated with the Program. The Model Ordinance includes guidelines to ensure that the shellfish produced in States in compliance with the guidelines are safe and sanitary.
The Model Ordinance provides readily adoptable standards and administrative practices necessary for the sanitary control of molluscan shellfish.

The U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has scheduled a Nutrition Roundtable Discussion on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 1:00 until 3:30 PM, at the FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), Harvey W. Wiley Building, 5100 Paint Branch Parkway, College Park, Maryland.
